Fr. Willie Doyle

Today Bishop Tom Deenihan, Bishop of Meath, promulgated an Edict announcing that he is to open the cause for the beatification and canonisation of Fr. Willie Doyle SJ. Fr Doyle (A native of Dalkey) renowned for his heroism as a military chaplain during World War I, has enjoyed a reputation for sanctity and intercessory power since his death on 16 August 1917. The Cause will be formally opened at a ceremony in the Cathedral of Christ The King on Sunday 20 November 2022  at 5pm. All are welcome to attend. For details on Fr.
